GLS is seeking a results-oriented analytics professional in Greenville, SC to support our growing organization as a Business Analyst.  Focusing on loan originations, the Business Analyst is an important member of The Risk Analytics & Modeling team.  This team is responsible for enforcing data-driven business decisions and promoting automation efforts across the organization. These goals are achieved by grounding outcome expectations through cash flow and statistical modeling and implementing results through system and process changes.

What does it mean to be a Business Analyst?
 
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Analytics, the primary charge is analyzing and improving all nodes of the application processing and pricing decision cycle.  This includes approve/decline decision making, credit policy analysis, deal-level profitability analysis, and interpretations of the competitive environment.  The role will be deeply involved in establishment and maintenance of credit policy, simulation / Monte Carlo analysis, and pricing optimization.
 
What will you do each day to ensure success? 
  • Promote improvements and modifications to GLS Credit Policy and Pricing / Structuring Algorithms through rigorous analysis along the dimensions of risk, default probability, market elasticity, and internal cost efficiencies
  • Work to develop tools used in application simulation / Monte Carlo analysis
  • Interact with Statistical Modeling team to promote demand-elasticity pricing/modeling efforts
  • Gather market research data to improve the Company’s competitive position in the marketplace
  • Maintain a strong comprehensive understanding of competitiveness relative to key industry drivers
  • Assist with key control processes and report administration
  • Provide support for databases and applications owned by the team
  • Communicate and present analytical findings to management
What should you already know to be successful in this role? 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field required; proven strong academic performance
  • 2+ years in relevant field and role preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server preferred
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming preferred (i.e. Python)
  • Highly organized with a superior analytical ability
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills while presenting ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
  • Able to work effectively in partnership with the other team members
  • Exceptionally self-motivated and directed
  • Exceptional internal service orientation

Employment Requirements:

Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires being able to sit for 8 hours a day
  • Able to communicate verbally and in writing

Schedule:

This position is full-time, requiring minimal schedule flexibility
