Summary:

The DevOps - Data Warehouse role reports directly to the Senior Director, Data Warehouse; this person is responsible for establishing systems and processes to streamline testing and development of ETL and BI code.  They will ensure that the code and system releases to the GLS Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Reports are free of defects with a goal of minimizing any incidents to the GLS production environments.

Primary Duties:

• Establish automated testing frameworks for each type of DW and BI code release – SQL stored procedures, PowerShell, PowerBI, SSRS, SSIS, Hadoop/Hive
• Develop automated deployment, change management, and rollback processes
• Assist with deployment and change management tasks as needed for releases to production
• Perform risk analysis of items submitted for change management process
• Work with developers on ETL and Reporting framework enhancements that build quality into the development process
• Act as the first line of defense for issue resolution
• Track improvements in development time and HotFix frequency
• Collaborate with GLS developers or technical analysts to develop automated regression and load testing methods to maintain the quality of the GLS production environments and reduce time in QA for releases
• Organize, plan, work on multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines
• Serve as a contributing member of project teams(s), or leader of project team(s), coordinating resources to ensure achievement of project activities as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Accounting, Engineering or a related field required.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience with financial lending services preferred
• Experience with automated, performance and load testing tools preferred
• 2-15 years of experience in a DevOps or QA related role
• Experience with Microsoft products and Microsoft SQL databases
• Proficiency in SQL including Joins, Inserts, Updates, Creates, Alters, Subqueries, Pivots, Loops, Cases, and basic data transformation functions. Experience in SQL Server and SSIS a plus
• Experience with multiple testing methodologies
• In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, platforms, and operating systems
• Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services a plus
• Excellent customer service skills with technical and non-technical customers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential materials in a professional manner.
