What does it mean to be Sourcing  & Contracts Manager with GLS?
In a rapidly growing, complex and fast-paced environment, the Sourcing & Contracts Manager is responsible for supporting the continued build-out and operation of GLS’s Sourcing Management Program. In this position, you will review and negotiate contracts, identify opportunities for savings and improved service standards and establish procurement strategies and supporting policies and procedures. Simultaneously you will encourage long-term company success by driving the execution and implementation of ongoing monitoring efforts to ensure objectives are both realized and sustained.

You will have the opportunity to establish strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. You will work collaboratively to understand GLS’s business needs, translating these needs into target pricing, terms, SLAs and other key metrics to support the success of one of the industry’s fastest-growing companies.


What will you do each day to support the build of one of the fastest growing organizations the industry?

  • Communicate with suppliers, contractors, departmental executives and employees regarding purchase requisitions, specifications, bids, contracts, orders, and related matters.
  • Coordinate and partner with business managers, vendor compliance manager and FP&A to develop appropriate sourcing strategies.
  • Determine the needs of multiple business units, conduct research and apply independent judgment and technical knowledge related to acquisition of products and services that meet those needs.
  • Examine existing supplier and vendor contracts.
  • Evaluate proposals, bids and quotations.
  • Prepare technical specifications and invitations to bid and Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
  • Draft, review and compare specifications of competitive services and products.
  • Draft, edit, review and interpret contract terms, conditions and specifications to achieve consistency and efficiency in vendor relationships.
  • Perform cost analysis.
  • Understand and apply relevant laws, regulations, ordinances and contract principles during the negotiation and administration of bid solicitations, bid awards and contract administration.
  • Monitor supplier performance, track and report key functional metrics to identify cost reduction opportunities and create a competitive market environment.
  • Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.

 

What should you already know to be successful in this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Three or more years of experience in developing, evaluating and administering contracts, including robust contract negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrable experience in sourcing, procurement and vendor/ solution lifecycle management
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills with the ability to interact collaboratively at all levels within and outside of the organization.
  • Proficient computer skills with working knowledge of internet and standard business applications such as Microsoft Office with ability to quickly learn new computer applications as required.
  • Financial Services experience preferred.
