What does it mean to be an Outsourced Recoveries Manager with GLS?

The Manager of Outsourced Recoveries is responsible for managing the outsourcing activities and the relationship for our third-party post charge-off recovery vendors. This position is also responsible for promoting continuous improvement of productivity, vendor support, service quality, and compliance as it relates to the vendor’s processes and GLS’s support of the vendor.


How will you drive value within the organization?

  • Lead tactical support activities and act as the primary liaison to our vendor partners to enhance performance through scorecard management via a champion challenger format
  • Monitor third party vendors for strict adherence to operating policies, servicing guidelines, procedures, contractual obligations, and Service Level Agreements; provide vendors with constructive performance feedback 
  • Reconcile vendor invoicing and submit for timely payment
  • Maintain relationship with vendor contacts and keeps vendor contact information current within internal systems
  • May be required to hire and grow a team to execute internal processes including but not limited to: updating accounts as required, supporting vendor document requests and executing affidavits of account balances for legal strategy
  • Create a highly engaging work environment to attract, develop and retain talent
  • Perform frequent on-site quality assurance and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to state and federal regulatory requirements and company guidelines
  • Using appropriate monitoring resources and feedback from internal business units, provide frequent reporting to management related to vendor activity and performance
  • Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company or as directed by management


What should you already know to be successful in this role? 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics or a related field required
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a collections agency or in a vendor management role managing collection agency partnerships
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills: friendly and tactful with the ability to influence others and effectively manage conflict
  • Proficient computer skills with working knowledge of internet and standard business applications such as Microsoft Office; ability to quickly learn new computer applications as required 
  • Commitment to exemplifying the organizational core values and key competencies
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead a team - provide quality training, guidance, performance coaching and feedback to assigned staff
  • Run daily reports to optimize workflow efficiency; ensure service level expectations of internal and external customers are met

Employment Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
  • This is an exempt level position whereby business need will dictate the exact work schedule which should be expected to vary at times. Generally, days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am-6:00pm
  • The position may require frequent domestic travel 25%
