What does it mean to be an Area Sales Manager for GLS?

The Area Sales Manager is the ambassador of GLS to local auto dealers within your market area. Your mission will be to expand GLS’s market share by signing new dealers, developing existing relationships and increasing awareness and adoption of the GLS program. Through your efforts, GLS will be the preferred subprime lender of our dealers!

What will you do each day to ensure you are successful?
  • Educate dealers on the aspects of the GLS program and how to maximize the value of the program for their individual dealership.
  • Partner with your internal Buyer and funding team to capture quality business from existing dealers and increase utilization of the program.
  • Build and expand the territory by identifying and signing new dealerships that fit the program and can help you exceed your origination volume goals.
  • Make regular dealer visits, cold calls and take inbound calls from dealerships to build relationships and capture their business.
  • Maintain high quality customer satisfaction and retention of dealers. Including full time 24/7 availability to the dealerships.
  • Completion and submittal of internal communication documentation to track and assess established goals.
 
What should you already know to be successful in this role?
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 3 years’ experience in auto finance, preferably in sub-prime auto financing
  • 3+ years of previous sales experience, auto industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to establish relationships, excellent communication, interpersonal skills, proven presentation skills, ability to effectively prioritize tasks with a high level of accountability
  • Knowledge of the local market with existing customer relationships a plus
Employment Requirements:
  • Must be able to pass criminal background check.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to operate from home office with extensive (75%) travel.
  • Overnight travel and extened hours (flexible work schedule).
 
Physical Requirements:
  • This position requires being able to travel extensively in vehicle.
  • Ability to use a computer; related software and telephone.
  • Ability to communicate verbally.
 
Schedule:

Flexible schedule with requirements for overnight travel, extended hours and some weekend work.
