What does it mean to be a Loss Prevention Representative with GLS?

The Loss Prevention Representative is responsible for proactively resolving account delinquency through positive customer relations.

What will you do each day to bring value to the organization?

  • Manage a portfolio of accounts, minimizing risk exposure by focusing on collections of automotive loans
  • Contact customers to determine intent to pay and ability to resolve delinquency
  • Maintain good customer relations while collecting on delinquent balances and negotiating solutions that are mutually beneficial to the client and company
  • Aid customers by offering solutions based on individual needs with the goal of negotiating immediate payments and/or promises to pay with specified payment dates and amounts
  • Manage loss control activities such as collections, insurance, and repossessions
  • Perform investigative activities to evaluate and determine the whereabouts of customers and/or collateral through database searches and system records
  • Interact with clients in accordance with state and company guidelines while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Provide high quality service in dealing with dealers and management
  • Accurately and professionally document systems with details of current contacts and subsequent results
  • Research additional contact information to locate customers when necessary
  • Meet or exceed assigned business plan objectives
  • Maintain electronic records and files
  • Foster a collaborative culture that facilitates the achievement of business plan objectives by working closely with other associates and members of management
  • Participate in special projects as needed
  • Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company or as directed by management

What should you already know to be successful in this role?

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Internal candidates at the Coordinator I level with commensurate experience and a track record of sustained, top performance against company standards may be considered
  • Minimum of one-year experience in a collections role required; experience in auto collections is preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills: friendly and tactful with the ability to influence others, effectively manage conflict, exercise sound judgment, effectively manage highly sensitive and confidential information, interact at all levels within the organization, build cross-functional partnerships across the business, demonstrate empathy, and ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers
  • Active listening skills with the ability to probe for additional details and ask targeted questions to gather information Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Team player that can adapt in a fast pace and changing environment Proficient computer skills with working knowledge of internet and standard business applications such as Microsoft Office; ability to quickly learn new computer applications as required
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and demonstrated ability to effectively set and manage multiple conflicting priorities

Employment Requirements:

  • Must be available to work between the hours of 8:00AM – 8:00PM
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
