Summary:
GLS Buying Manager : A great opportunity for a talented leader to aid in the development of a Phoenix based Buying Center to serve the Subprime Auto Finance industry.   The primary responsibility of the Buying Centers are to build and develop relationships with key automotive dealerships personnel and work with these F&I departments to structure and capture profitable contracts that meet the program guidelines of GLS.

Reporting to our Director of Buying, the Buying Manager is directly responsible for effectively building and managing a profitable team of buyers while acting as a key resource for creating and maintaining professional and profitable relationships with dealer customers.   

Primary Duties:

Develop and maintain positive business relationships with dealers through daily conversations and solicitations; providing exceptional customer service, effective and timely communications and responsiveness to all credit processing questions and inquiries while maintaining a high level of integrity.
  • Communicate credit decisions to the dealer customer within the timeline prescribed.
  • Work with the dealer representative to provide a deal structure that is acceptable to all parties to the deal.
  • Establish and track monthly purchase objectives for assigned dealers.
  • Assist Funding team with the resolution of documentation issues.
  • Act in full buying capacity to manage team member’s queues during all scheduled and unscheduled absences.
  • Maintain a departmental structure sufficient to meet organizational goals and objectives.
  • Measure individual buyers’ and overall team performance with appropriate metrics.
  • Provide meaningful and timely performance coaching and feedback to assigned staff.
  • Exercise management authority concerning staffing, performance evaluations, promotions, salary recommendations, and terminations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics or a related field required.

Skills:
 
  • Minimum 3 years management experience required.
  • Prior auto finance operations and/​or auto industry experience required.
  • Thorough knowledge of credit-related laws, consumer lending/underwriting concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Must have professional and persuasive communication and negotiation skills with the ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent sales skills; ability to think quickly in a dynamic environment and successfully overcome resistance.
  • Ability to solve problems under pressure and provide creative solutions when necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and effectively manage and work within a team.
  • Proficient computer skills with working knowledge of internet and standard business applications such as Microsoft Office; Ability to quickly learn new computer applications as required.

Schedule:

This position is full-time, requiring schedule flexibility to include evenings and working every other Saturday as scheduled to meet the needs of the company.
